  • Hello from Georgia

I’m Jimmy and I live in Metro Atlanta. It’s my second year of beekeeping, and it’s been a rocky road for me. I am on the board of my local bee club and I love talking about bees and encouraging people to plant bee-friendly trees. I also enjoy cooking, gardening, and fermenting things.

Local associations are a great way to find help. Hopefully they are not hostile to treatment free.

You'll find a growing number of people that love to chat bees here. Glad to have you on the forums.

It’s my goal to make sure that my club is as accepting to all kinds of beekeepers and is free of the demeaning and judgmental ways that new beekeepers are treated by seasoned beekeepers, especially commercial beekeepers. It’s also my goal to bring in more speakers and topics that involve actual beekeeping instead of trying to compel new beekeepers and backyard beekeepers to adopt the practices of industrial-chemical commercial beekeepers.

im also a member of a less formal group that was started by TF beekeepers, and that’s where I promote the philosophy of TF beekeeping.
